An idea I've been toying with for a while. As we all know it's very popular to have writers for TV (and other media) come to comics and do their "takes" on comic characters, most notable is probably Joss Whedon. Well, what if the tables were turned - writers from comics went to do their takes on TV series?
This is just intended for good fun, and has no real thought/intention behind it.
It was fun to try my hands at not only adapting Art Spiegelman's style to a "contemporary" look, but also trying to mimicking it as well as I could. I inked this with a quill (something I've not done in ages) as it looked like the technique Art had used on his series Maus. I also tried my hands at drawing with white-out (also a technique it looked like Art had used). For reference I used two House promo pictures of Hugh Laurie. I think the outcome is pretty good. Special thanks goes to for being so awesome to not only create a House font, but also kind enough to put it up for all to use for free! If you want the font yourself, here's the [link]
I might do more "comic writers do tv series" - I've more ideas, that's for sure - I just don't know when.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
